Culture and Leadership

Develop leadership skills, contribute to your community, and help shape the future of Wild At Heart.

Wild At Heart’s Culture and Leadership Program provides people with visible and invisible disability, mental health or chronic illness, and neuro and gender diversity the opportunity to actively participate in and contribute to the WAH community. The program offers pathways to leadership, peer facilitation, voluntary roles, advisory participation, and paid employment—all grounded in WAH’s disability-led values.

What you’ll be part of

Advisory and Leadership Roles

  • Join the WAH Advisory Group or take on leadership opportunities that help guide programs, events, and organisational decision-making.

Peer Facilitation and Workshops

  • Support fellow artists by co-facilitating workshops, sharing lived experience, and contributing to a culture of inclusion and collaboration.

Voluntary and Paid Opportunities

  • Engage in meaningful voluntary roles or paid positions within WAH, building practical skills and experience while strengthening the community.

Accessible, Inclusive, and Empowering Environment

  • All activities are designed with accessibility at the centre, fostering confidence, skill development, and the chance to make a lasting impact within a supportive, artist-led organisation.

Shaping Community and Culture

  • Be part of developing WAH’s programs, values, and creative culture, helping ensure the organisation remains inclusive, empowering, and disability-led.

Who it’s for

This program is primarily for active WAH participants who want to take an active role in leadership, mentoring, and community-building within the arts. Other opportunities may arise for people not currently actively involved.

When and where

Opportunities are offered through ongoing involvement at WAH Studio, online, and across WAH programs and events.
