Wild At Heart presents the inaugural Footscray Folk Festival as part of Melbourne Fringe 2025. Join us at the Bluestone Church Arts Space for a magical afternoon of folk music from the best in the west.
Joining us for the afternoon is the wonderful Kerryn Fields, one of the southern hemisphere’s most vital country/folk singer-songwriters. Performing such enormous folk festivals as Port Fairy Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, Auckland Folk Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and more. She seamlessly blends Americana, 60s and 70s folk and traditional folk to create a sonic space for her unique storytelling voice.
Additionally on our lineup, on the back of their stellar debut album 'Weal and Woe' is Sibyl. Creating folk music that foregrounds fables of the spiritual and personal, they fuse jazz, alternative rock and pop sensibilities through a folk lens to create a fresh twist on a classic folk trio sound.
With them is Ruth Parker, who headlined a stage as part of Sydney Road Street Festival earlier in the year, and is fresh off the back of releasing her second LP 'Otherwise Occupied' to critical acclaim. Ruth's hauntingly beautiful voice paired with her poetic lyrics and signature fingerpicking style puts her up among Australia's finest folk musicians.
This show is curated and takes place on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation and the organisers acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the land. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
