CLEAN BEAST
Thematically, Ash K’s Clean Beast delves into the many faces of conflict, and the effect they have on us all.
With airplay and praise across stations like Triple R, PBS, Radio Adelaide, 4ZZZ and many more, Clean Beast has quickly made a name for themselves through their distinct vocal delivery and fearless emotional honesty.
Thematically, Ash K’s Clean Beast delves into the many faces of conflict, and the effect they have on us all - from the fractured conscience of a soldier (‘Tragedy’) to the stark portrayal of forced obedience (‘Power’), the intrinsic link between depression and creativity (‘Darkness’), the exposure of predatory manipulations cloaked in sanctimony (‘Parasite’), and finally, a devastatingly raw rejection of modern individualism in the title track ‘Sympathy/Empathy’. But while the tracks do confront the harsher realities of modern life, at the heart of each of them is an offer of hope and consolation.
‘Sympathy/Empathy’ was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Ash K at his home studio. The tracks ‘Darkness’ and ‘Sympathy’ were mastered by James North.
Born to a family of artists and creatives, Ash admits they tried to stop him becoming one. However, despite their best efforts, music has always played a large role in his life. The origins of Clean Beast began following a tumultuous time in Ash’s life when a music therapist suggested he write a song about his recent experience. Initially resistant to the idea, Ash found himself drawn to the process later that day. He started writing, and the words started flowing. Clean Beast as a musical outlet was created, and the music has been coming ever since.
