Stylistically there has always been a desire to combine all the elements of Saint Ergo’s work as a songwriter, performer, producer, arranger and engineer with elements of folk, classical, jazz, rock and pop.
The common thread has always been about connection and the struggle for relevance as a creative human entity within society. She has been told that her music is a blend of Jeff Buckley, Antony and The Johnsons (Anohni) and Jackson Brown.
Saint Ergo is an artists name that Joanna gives to her work and this art is a reflection of the journey of self discovery. A human experience of living with mental illness, neuro-diversity and the euphoria of gender expression. As an artist, Saint Ergo was born thinking differently and uses this capacity to challenge the society we live in, to inspire it to be inclusive and find where the differences enhance us all.
Joanna Jones has performed live in countless gigs and venues around Victoria. She appeared on Australian national television on the reality TV show "The X-Factor" where the judges, Guy Sebastian, Iggy Azalea and Adam Lambert all said terribly nice things about her. She has also performed in professional musicals, written and recorded for other people’s music projects and released music under a previous name.
